Highlights from 2022 Forging Ahead Ladies Weekend Away.
The theme for 2022 Ladies Weekend Away Retreat hosted by the Father’s Joy Ministry was GLOW.
If you did not attend this year’s Forging Ahead Ladies Weekend Away, you missed, to put it lightly! It took place from 02 September 2022 to 04 September 2022.
The build up to this year’s event started in February 2022. The energy, enthusiasm and excitement from attendees was ‘gingered’ regularly by the TFJ team especially from Sister Edirin and Pastor Modupe.
The venue for the event was spectacular – DeVere Venues, Reading. Everything about this venue was beautiful – the grounds, landscape, the interior decorations of the rooms, the meeting rooms, conference halls and the foyers/ waiting areas. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful. The TFJ Retreat planning committee did well on the choice of venue. Although, it was busy as there were other events taking place at the same time as the TFJ Retreat, I still found it relaxing and fit for purpose.
This year, I went along to the event with my mentor, Pastor Bisi Dada and my senior sister, Mrs Olasubomi Alade. As we arrived the venue on Friday 02 September 2022 about 2pm, there was an Asian wedding taking place and we joined in briefly to celebrate as the bride and groom were dancing in via the main entrance with their guests. It was a great moment to experience the beauty of that occasion. The atmosphere was lively as people danced and jubilated in their colourful attires. As we were celebrating with complete strangers I could not but reflect on how far God has brought me since the last Forging Ahead Event 12 months ago. I was grateful to God for His divine protection and looked forward in anticipation of what He was about to do this weekend. At that moment as we enjoyed the music, my heart leapt with joy and delight, my face lit up and I knew a glowing experience is all to expect from the weekend!
During the meet and greet later that evening, It was so lovely and wonderful to see other beautiful ladies. There were new faces and others I already knew from the previous years and from the WhatsApp group forum. I settled in nicely and awaited the events to unfold.
The TFJ events are like none other events. It’s my 3rd year attending and I join the TFJ team in giving all glory to God for another successful event this year.
Highlights – Glow
I left this years event recharged and refreshed to tackle what’s ahead. The theme for the 2022 event – ‘Glow’ with the supporting scripture from Matthew 5: 13-16 and John 1:5 was addressed from various angles by seasoned and sound speakers.
I honestly cannot detail all that was said and I don’t intend to because there was so much so, you would just have had to experience it yourself. I therefore encourage you not to miss the next event.
The brief summary of my personal highlights/take-away from the Speakers are:
Dr Hugh Osgood
“It’s your light that you have to make shine not the enthusiasm of your personality”.
Minister Amanda Bedzrah
“Grow to Glow
Glow – “A steady, continuous, ever present light”.
G – Grateful heart
R – Relationship with God, seek God
O – Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
W – Word of God (the Bible), a relationship with Jesus: the Word.
Look after your light, guard your heart, that’s where your light is, clean the light, be aware of things that could dull your light, stay connected to the light giver.”
Apostle Reverend Victoria Lawrence
G – Give
L – Love
O – Open to receive
W – Wisdom of God
Apostle Emmanuel Adeseko
“To glow, there must be light. We must reflect the light of God.
The moon reflects the light of the sun and the moon is positioned by the sun. If we don’t maintain our position, we will be a light with no transformation”.
Minister Bola Ogundeji
“God sees things in a bigger way. God is working it out. Do not let your light be hindered by what you see. God will work it out”.
Pastor Toyin Ajala
“The secret to glow is a heart and act of worship”.
“God wants His personality to reflect in our Gifts, Character and Calling”.
The Event – Glow
Powerful prayer sessions led by Dr Titi, Princess Adeola and Sister Dupe Makinde. The prayer sessions by Sister Dupe Makinde stood out for me and I thank God for the strength and grace to wait till the end of the session.
The Moderator was Graced Bimpe, she did an amazingly amazing job. The praise and worship was on a different level and I really do bless God for the gifts of Minister Lanre and Sister Lara Banks. Awesome! It was glow all the way.
As usual, we finished the second day in grand style with the photo shoot/ red carpet; and the evening ball, where everyone was looking stunning, elegant and glamorous!
It was certainly a fun, friendly, and fantastic ambience which I totally enjoyed and so did everyone else. The MC for the evening ball was Toyin Ajala, she really deserves a ‘Grammy’ award! But I know an award from God surpasses any earthly awards. There was no dull moment, none whatsoever! The networking, games, quiz, the music and dancing, competitions and the couple sessions with the Osgoods’ and Araromis’ and not to mention the jokes and comments from the MC, the WORDSMITH made the evening one to be remembered for a long time. There was glow everywhere.
The annual TFJ event gets better every year without a doubt. There was mind blowing revelations, God’s anointing, God’s light, love and glory shone throughout the 3 days. I thank God for the personal enlightening encounter I experienced during the ministration on day 3.
See you at the next event by Gods Grace.
Glow and Keep Glowing.
